Dave was a staunch supporter of, and good
friend to, many of the performers, merchants and patrons of Bristol. He
will be remembered for his sweet nature, generous spirit and beautiful,
welcoming smile. (Julie M)

Dave Zielinski
On April 12, 2006, we in
Bounding Main were rocked by terrible news. Dave Zielinski, one of our
biggest fans and an all-around wonderful person, tragically died in a
motorcycle accident. He was only days from his 33rd birthday.
From the first time we met
Dave during the summer of 2003, never once did he miss an opportunity to
support Bounding Main. Aside from being one of our biggest supporters in
the audience, he helped us out with our sound equipment, chronicled our
performances with countless pictures, videos and audio recordings, and
quite simply was one of our favorite fans.
None of us in the group has
ever truly understood why people who have already heard all of our songs
would travel so far just to hear us sing them again, but we always
sincerely appreciate it when folks do. Dave was one of those guys, and we
loved him for it. He was someone who always went above and beyond, a truly
special member of our extended Bounding Main family.

Dave Zielinski at The Bristol Renaissance Faire
We were honored to attend
Dave's wake, sharing some of our music in a celebration of his life. One
of the songs we sang was one that he particularly enjoyed - "Fareweel
To Taerwathie," a ballad that we were still in the process of
learning at the time. Dave had attended one of our rehearsals near the end
of his life while we were still practicing the tune. Unbeknownst to us, he
privately taped it... the first ever recording of the song.
When the opportunity arose to
finally put the song on our album, we dedicated the song to his memory in
the liner notes. It seemed a fitting appreciation for the joy he shared
with us, and it is certainly appropriate for that particular song.
Dave's parents, Lin and Jerry
Zielinski, have continued this cycle of appreciation and donated $250 to
the DEPORT campaign in his name. We are collectively humbled and awed by
their generosity. We hope to always live up to the standards of musicality
and fun that we and Dave shared together.
In the Jewish faith, when we
speak of the deceased we use the phrase "in blessed memory." It
certainly applies here. We will always miss Dave dearly.
